This is the 3rd installment of the PE Special $6.66 series. We had to feature SOD HAULER’s first e.p… plus 3 more special selections from our distro box. (Limited to 10 pacts!) ORDER NOW!
SOD HAULER – Self Titled e.p.
Sod Hauler, hail from Seattle and feature members of STATE OF THE UNION… a band with several releases on Profane Existence. Although we haven’t released anything for Sod Hauler we believe them to be solid as f*ck band with a heavy as f*ck sound that is punishing and demands attention. And we just happened to get an order of their first e.p. so here it is. For fans of Eye Hate God, Sleep, Sabbath and Buzzoven. All Hail Sod Hauler. Smoke up and bow down!
BLOOD OF THE GODS – The Shadow Before
This is the debut release from New Hampshire’s axe-wielding, death-crust-dbeat warriors, Blood of the Gods. Like a clan of possessed, drunken Viking Berzerkers marching into your ear canals, BOTG will violate, pillage and decimate everything you once thought was deadly and brutal in the “Metal-Punk” realm. Eight unsubtle nuances of sheer brutality range from skull crushing slow grooves to gut-wrenching gallops and blood boiling blast beats. Fans of Bolt Thrower, Disrupt, Obituary, Stormcrow and others of similar ilk will proudly sacrifice their eardrums to this devastating disc. Features ex-members of Buriedinhell Record’s very own dbeat/crust merchants, Man The Conveyors.
THE DETONATORS – Balls To You Emergency Broadcasting System (naked: sans case)
“The Detonators were hard-working, long-running, prolific and vastly underrated. They began in California in the mid-1980s (where punk was huge) but inexplicably decided to move to Eugene, Oregon (where punk was nearly non-existent.) Who knows, maybe they wanted a challenge. Maybe they would have been very popular if they’d stayed in California. Maybe they didn’t want to be popular. Like I said, who knows? In any event, the Detonators made a lot of great records. The band considers the 1988 “Balls To You” album their best effort, and I stand in agreement. The Detonators hand-crafted fine, memorable punk rock tunes with a hardcore flair, much in the tradition of D.O.A., Toxic Reasons, Social Unrest and the Canadian Subhumans. Strong guitar riffs and simple vocal lines are the Detonators’ bread and butter, yet each song is uniquely its own.” – (BS)
DON’T FALL ASLEEP – A Minneapolis D.I.Y. compilation for Day Break Newspaper. (naked: sans case)
This comp features variety of Minneapolis based activist-punk/peace punk bands who hung out on the West Bank (Seward, Hard Times, and Bedlam) & supported the anti-corporate anarcho ideals behind Day Break Newspaper. This comp is a few years old now and many of the bands on here have broken up but it is still awesome and stands as a testimony of the d.i.y./community spirit of the Minneapolis scene.
Anyone who may want this album on vinyl, it is finally being released limited to 117 copies next week. Check here: http://inimical.bigcartel.com
