This is Tokyo City thrash punk thats fun to listen to when youre drunk, and good lyrics to read when youre sober. This is classic sing along style crossover metal punk in the style of Deathside meets Motorhead, leaning more on the Motorhead side. All the Japanese lyrics are translated into English in the lyrics book, and most song choruses are sung in English. Apparently this is their second LP.
I found this quote at Soap and Spikes:
“Nagoya city, one of the cities raised up Japanese Hardcore by world-class level, has 九狼吽(CLOWN) in its core. They play aggressively, and it’s not too much to say that they represent Japanese Driving Hardcore Punk at this time. And this is their newest record. You can be killed with one blow of Mune, a son of Burning Spirits. Agitating shouts of their souls. Shot! Shot! Shot! The lumps of sound make your aggression accelerate and battling spirits fire. Pound! Pound! Pound! A direct new generation of Japanese Hardcore, goes on their own way of hard core laughing social situation! Just feel their boiling blood. Yes! Yes! Yes!” -Souichi / FORWARD”
A Japanese punk band with a fair bit of MOTORHEAD and MC5 in their sound as well as some hard rock. Some gang vocals from females, crazed rocking tunes and a band having a good time, what more could you ask for? These four songs are produced with a lot of grit and it makes it feel like it was recorded back in the late 70’s or early 80’s. The singer has some gruffness to his voice, the band is smashing away at their instruments and it’s all a glorious noise. This is going to be one of those bands that I hope keeps putting out stuff in North America because it would be a shame to be hard to get, they rock out and should have you more rock oriented punk fans lapping this up. This is a reissue of this Japanese band from 1991 and originally only 200 copies of the LP were made. You get the entire original album, plus four tracks for comps put out back then for a total of fifteen raging tracks. What does D.O.N.D.O.N. stand for you ask? Detestation of Negative Destruction of Nuclear. This band never gets mentioned like a lot of other bands from Japan are and hopefully this will change it and get people into them. I was in Japan for a month and went to tons of record stores and punk shops and never heard of them or saw anything about them, so they really are a lost treasure. They play super hard and fast hardcore with a fair bit of metal in their songs, but that was popular back then, especially in Japan and they rage on all of the tracks! Super fast drumming with it almost losing control, only to be brought back under control, the guitar just thrashing away, the bassist pounding and the singer just furiously singing. These guys are going to be played on nice days to piss of the neighbors, it’s that fucking good. I’m glad that people are digging up long forgotten classics like this. (Rick Ecker)
