Thirteen bands playing hardcore, some metal stuff and some oi! styles from New York and Connecticut and it’s a winner. This started off really well and pretty much kept the quality and pace up for the entire CD. Instead of listing the bands that I liked, since I liked most of them, let’s just say that some of the more metal on here was good, but it wasn’t my favorite, there were three bands that just were ok for me, but this really is a good release that did have me looking up some of these bands that I had not heard of before, and to me, that really is the sign of a good compilation, to get you to check out more bands. I really do recommend this, there is a lot of good music on here and a lot of good lyrics from these bands. This is the kind of release that I really enjoy and hope that United Riot Records keeps putting out good ones like this in the future. Bands on CD: DRUG SHOCK, TWO MAN ADVANTAGE, BROKEN, ICONICIDE, BLASTMAT, FED UP!, ALL FOR SPITE, CARNAGE KREW, SIDE SWIPED, TRUTH IN NEEDLES, HOOKS & SINKERS, EVERYDAY DOLLARS, PROGRESS. (Rick E.)
This three-piece band from New York city play some really fun punk rock with no pretensions, and some pretty funny lyrics. The band is composed of Bryan Defiance on vocals/Guitar, Kat Kaos on Drums/Percussion/Vocals, and Jessica Carmen on Bass/Vocals. Lots of harmony on this release, great fun lead vocals, and the guitar, bass and drums are really well done as well. The production is really good, leaving the band room to move and nice and clear. This ten tracks are lots of fun, and not something for the delicate because they are raunchy, but damn, funny as hell and lots of fun too. This band is one that I am going to be watching in the future for more great releases like this. (Rick E.)

Fall in New York is one of my all time favorite things and soups like this one submitted by the very creative Janine are part of the reason. Enjoy.
1 medium/large butternut squash
3 small A.P.P.L.E.S (tart ones would work best)
2 cups brussel sprouts
1 tablespoon curry powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp ground fenugreek seeds
10 curry leaves (optional), and a few for garnish
sea salt to taste
This one is pretty easy… wash and slice the shallots, and brussel sprouts, toss in olive oil, spices and sea salt, roast at 375 in the oven until crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. While this is happening, cut, core, de-seed, de-skin, and defile the apples and squash (you may leave them in relatively big pieces, they go soft easily). Boil until easily pierced with a fork, then transfer, liquid and all, into a blender (do not do this drunk). Return to pot, add your roasted sprouts/shallots, stir and serve. You may want to add more sea salt, depending on your taste. Serve to a grindcore singer.
