The long awaited debut LP from NYC’s FLOWER “Hardly A Dream” is finally set to arrive.

FLOWER’s tedious approach to writing/creating/drawing their debut LP was carefully thought out and the result is a monumental anarcho punk /crust record.

“Hardly A Dream” Takes us on a bleak journey through the dark side of society. As soon as you drop the needle a dark atmosphere is immediately created with a slow intro featuring arpeggio guitar work that builds into pummeling d-beat crust. The albums vocals then leave you with a feeling of being crushed by the ever-present weight of living through our modern world of late stage capitalism that was built on the falsehoods of the so called American dream, religious hypocrisy’s, nationalism, and the greed of humankind.
FLOWER take many cues from predecessors and are most often (and rightfully so) compared to NAUSEA but they also take a heavy influence from ANTISECT, SACRILEGE & other greats. The artwork has a very RUDIMENTARY PENI feel and the record comes with an amazing 24.5 X 34.75 CRASS style poster jacket. All art work was meticulously hand drawn and overseen by the guitarist Willow in true DIY style and spirit. Willow was also cool enough to draw up a special shirt for the record release featuring an alternative PROFANE EXISTENCE backprint!

heeyyy punxxxx…… whats with the name “DISRAPE”? i wonder have you thought about the implication of the word rape? its pretty sketchy. and i see here that lyrically you have described your influences as “the progressive rape of MANKIND” which just makes it all that much more sketch. bummmer…
The prefix “dis” gives it the opposite meaning, therefore their name could just as easily be “anti-rape.” I’ve never met this band before, but I’m fairly certain they are not singing the praises of the items that influence them!
Discharge means un-charged then. That’s not punk. Technically the whole genre is a lie and we should all just kill ourselves? JUST KIDDING, YOU’RE A RETARD
I’m more offended by retard. It’s just a stupid thing to say. In the future please don’t sidestep thinking and please try and be more clever than that. Punk doesn’t have to be synonymous with asshole.
Rape is used in many different contexts…the rape of the environment is one common example alone found in the dictionary. Rape is often used to describe the ‘destruction’ of something, even by academics and journalists. Are Anti Cimex “sketchy” for having an album and song named ‘Raped Ass’? Do you support them? Are history textbooks and academics “sketchy” because they commonly describe events such as the ‘Rape of Nanking’? This really isn’t any different. Furthermore, even if a historical textbook, song name, or band uses ‘Rape’ as a title, that does not mean they condone it and it’s ridiculous to assume that. I think it’s pretty apparent they DO NOT support rape or destruction of the world after reading their biography. I don’t find the name sketchy at all when you put it into context. Great band, smart name. Rape sucks, and as a survivor of sexual violence myself, I feel strongly about this topic. Keep pumping out wicked released Disrape. Excited for the full-length.
